Years ago, I wanted to monetize my blog so I read hundreds of online posts.
How to start a business that doesn’t fail…
The fail-proof entrepreneur…
Everything you need to know about running your business (yes, everything!).
I figured if I was going to take risks, I would equip myself with enough tips from experts to protect me from any bad decision I could possibly make.
It was exciting to learn cool ways to share what I loved, engage with my audience, and finally turn it into a profitable business.
But after a while, I had to admit one thing.
If you’re going to succeed, you need failure.
A lot of it.
Everything from minor disappointments to the cringy moments, the kind that you share with your best friend in horror.
You don’t get over the fear of failure easily. Instead, you learn how to make it work for you.
We all want to be authentic, creative and brave – taking the big risks, falling flat on our faces, and sharing it all with our audiences.
To become so comfortable with change and the handling the unexpected, I had to embrace it.
It was humbling…but it also set me free.
No longer was I embarrassed about my misjudgements or confusion.
I knew I was in a better place than I was a year before and that was enough for me.
In today’s podcast, I share my most cherished ideas that continue to inspire me even on my bad days:
- Accept failure and let it teach you what it needs to.
- Keep creating and doing what you love because it matters.
- Apply what you learn before you move on to something new.
- Allow your dreams to evolve and don’t be afraid to change your mind.
These four principles built the entrepreneur that I am today and like good bones on our favorite old house, I’m hoping they provide the strength and support you need on your own journey.
