How fast can you find a photo, video, or document in your files if I called out a random one?
Better yet, suppose you’re doing it while standing in line at the grocery store and you have 90 seconds before the customer ahead of you moves on.
And a long line of Saturday afternoon shoppers behind you…aaagh!
While you’re sweating, here’s what I’m wondering:
Can you access the file from your phone? And do you know exactly what path to follow to pull up that file before it’s your turn to checkout?
Remember, it’s just a stress test.
Nobody’s going to be doing business on a busy weekend while running errands, and only have your phone to rely on, right?
Yeah, who are we kidding?
This is our life!
We’re multitasking, online content creators. Sometimes, we have to make quick decisions and move information to others so we don’t hold up the sales funnel.
It’s critical that we have a clear path to all our content that’s predictable, easy to navigate, and accessible anytime and anywhere.
Where do we store all our project photos, videos, write-ups, and any kind of planning worksheets we use?
And how do we label them so we can scroll through them effortlessly?
If you take the time to set rules for yourself and create a file storage system that makes sense for your business, you won’t be scratching your head every time you need something.
But it’s not just for us – if we have assistants, they need to be able to find the files too.
And that, my friends, is where the magic begins.
You know what I’m talking about…AUTOMATION!
It’s the added bonus of getting organized and you’ll find out more about it in my podcast.
But first, let’s have a chat about how to start a simple, streamlined file structure that works for your business and one that you can access from any device.
And I’ll also give you tips on how to back up your data so you can avoid a catastrophe in the future.
It’s my hope that the next time you’re grabbing snacks for family movie night, you’ll find and send that file on its way before you roll your shopping cart out the door!
