What are we afraid of?
In the TV drama “This is Us”, fans often watched husband and wife, Randall and Beth, dealing with difficult decisions and sudden life changes using a simple “Worst Case Scenario” game.
They think of the worst thing that could happen, voice it, accept it, and move on.
Eventually, they share this strategy with their kids, and it becomes an empowering moment for all of them as they face their fears of moving to a new city.
As entrepreneurs, you and I get to make our own decisions and choose our own path for our business.
Yet, so often, we hesitate.
I know it’s not just procrastination – we have deep-rooted reasons why we wait.
It’s scary to put ourselves out there!
We want to double-check everything and make sure that whatever final decision we make or task we complete will work out perfectly.
Because we want to look like the experts that we are!
But it’s impossible to get everything right the first time.
So instead, you hold onto these big plans, unwilling to set them free into the world…your first Instagram Story, a YouTube video promoting your new product, or the fantastic new idea you’re too nervous to start planning.
If you’re lucky, something pushes you to do it, and once it’s done, you WISH you had done it earlier!
It’s refreshing to step out of your usual routine and try something new. But how do you handle the nerves, keep yourself on track and quiet the negative thoughts?
Just like the Worst Case Scenario game, there are simple but powerful ways to help you overcome your fears and take action.
In this podcast, you’ll learn how to:
- Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities
- Bravely show your process, even if it’s messy
- Learn from others so you can skip ahead on your journey
And finally, you’ll hear about four practical ways to kickstart your project and make sure you stick to it.
